Day One of IMMERSE
GMA’s IMMERSE kicked off today in full force. The entire Belmont University campus was buzzing today with people of all ages with hopes, aspirations, and plenty of determination to become the best artists, songwriters, worship leaders, and music industry professionals possible.
Most of the first day was spent registering and getting to know others. Songwriters and artists alike showed off their skills in various competitions leading up to the meet & greet. Artists like Natalie Grant, Phil Stacey and many others showed up to talk to those who’s shoes they have once walked in.
The highlight of the night was the concert. We got to hang out backstage in the green room with Phil Stacey, Pillar, Satellites and Sirens, and KJ-52 and hear their hearts and stories and joining them in a prayer session before showtime.
Shows aside…IMMERSE is not something to be taken lightly. Folks like Chris Tomlin launched to today’s popularity from the event. The wealth of information that is being contained within the campus of Belmont right now is monstrous! Learn all you can. You may never again have this close access with music industry folks (many of them Presidents and A&R VP’s from major labels.)
We’ll hit the ground running tomorrow with video and picture blogs all day from the event. Stop by and say “hello” at the Godbeat.com booth. (Just look for the comfy red couch).
Until every knee bows,
