God, Forgive Me For Being So Caught Up…

So here I am today at my office in the church trying to get things organized. My window is open taking in a beautiful North Dakota breeze. I went into a local business that two church members here in the city own to grab a quad caramel macchiato … and I’m occasionally sipping on it. I just finished hooking up some higher-ed speakers to listen to some great music and get focused on the week after our senior staff broke from praying over our Connect Cards from this Sunday. Life is pretty good…

…Life IS good. Don’t lose focus of that point…

…but hang with me for a minute.

The picture from above paints a whole different picture…family members TORMENTED over the loss of loved-ones when their church was bombed in Pakistan. This was the BIG news of the weekend…and I was more focused yesterday on why I let our tech team play the wrong video first in our first service…and let that plague me for a whole day. I completely forgot to pray for the needs of these families – and for the entire nation for that matter – while we were in staff prayer. What is wrong with me?

I could go on and on forever…but the truth is…I do this daily. I take for granted the fact that I have such liberties to worship freely when there are others who are worshiping knowing that they may likely be put to death and martyr the same God I do.

May we all be broken enough to serve God, love boldly, and be as obedient to the Gospel as those who may die daily for it…

…and living so boldly….

….life IS good.
