REVIEW: Planning Center Online’s Latest Update

Planning Center Online
Ministry Centered Technologies

After 2 months in public BETA, Planning Center Online has released what may best be described as “Planning Center 2.0”.  It’s a complete reboot of the product that includes a new look and some increased functionality.

The changes are numerous – but worth plowing through yourself to get acquainted with.  See your worship set update in real-time – as dynamic “growl”-type popups show you when your volunteers accept or decline while you are working within your pages without having to refresh.  While you’re working, you can now chose what information is important and what isn’t and hide and display what is and isn’t as important to you.  Got a new worship team member?  Save even more time and add them right from your plan instead of backing out and going to the “People” page and then back into the plan to insert them.

There are tons of additional features that you’ll enjoy finding more about.  Take a look at some of the new features by reading up at http://get.planningcenteronline.com/2011/whats-new-in-planning-centers-new-look/ or finding more at the Planning Center website below.

More: Nice well thought-out redesign; new reporting to comply with CCLI’s rehearsal reporting; series grouping & artwork; and tons more.

Less: Perhaps the next update could include more tools to admin from the iPhone/Android app?

(Note: A variation of my review appears in the 2012 March/April issue of Worship Leader Magazine.  To read it and many other great reviews of music, books, and resources perfect for the worship leader – please visit www.worshipleader.com today.  While my reviews and articles may appear in Worship Leader Magazine, the views and opinions stated here on gotworship.net are my own and in no way represent Worship Leader Magazine.)
